Additional cards at Costco

I recently got a trade membership at Costco, does anyone know how the whole additional card for family members work. It seems to suggest that any additional cardholder must living at the same address and can only use the local Costco to that address. Is this correct or has anyone managed to get around this?

My son who is the cardholder lives in London. I have an additional card and live in Birmingham using the Costco local to me. No one has ever questioned it.
  • you mentioned a trade membership ..according to the Costco website the rules on trade cards are as follows ..

Up to six additional cards are available, charged at £14.00 (plus VAT) each. Each additional cardholder will be issued a personalised membership card. Additional cards are only available for purchase & issue in your local warehouse.

there is no stipulation that addition card holders must reside at the same address as these cards can be for individuals who help you run your business etc and could possibly live anywhere in the country and use any local Costco to their homes.

But if you have an individual membership and not an actual trade membership then an additional card can only  be purchased for someone that resides at the same address .
