Accountancy firm for self return (individual) for both UK and Australia

Hello,

Do you know by chance any firms offering this service? I was wondering if there are alternatives to BDHTax (unfortunately I just opened my account and I cannot add links in forum posts yet).

To be honest, I think you may struggle.  It's usually the international accountancy firms that do this kind of thing as, say, their UK office will liaise with their Aus office and discuss between them the respective tax framework, laws, treaties, etc.  Can be pretty expensive though.

The alternative is to try and find a smaller firm/individual who just happens to specialise in UK/Aus tax, probably someone like a UK accountant who has emigrated to Aus, or vice versa, who therefore know both sets of tax rules.  Not sure how you'd find someone like that except for personal recommendation.

A third way sometimes is to use your employer's accountancy firm (if you're employed abroad) as your employer may feel as if they should help their "immigrant" staff deal with their tax issues and may even cover the cost or negotiate discounted costs.
