I contacted Pension Service...

Yes I called the number given to get a report on whether it would benefit my pension amount to pay £800 to plug any gaps.
I've already got 37 years NI but my pension subs were contracted out (even though nobody asked me if I wanted this!) I'm £30 per week short now. It's a lot of money to me.
I've re-contacted them. It's more than 6 months and 2 phone calls, and I've heard nothing.
They'll wait til April 2023 then tell me it's too late.. I can feel this coming. I just want to know the score.
It's time the Pension Credit threshold was changed to include more pensioners like me. I'm sick of missing out on other things because I'm not eligible for any benefits!

Then you have an occupational/private pension as well as a state pension?
What exactly does your state pension forecast say?

However, you paid lower NI contributions and the scheme makes up the difference. So, what is there not to like?
It does seem unlikely someone with a DB scheme with that length of service would be anywhere near benefits levels. If you had a DC scheme with that length of contracting out then there would be a very nice pension pot available for you to spend.
£30 short of what? Are you misunderstanding the state pension forecast by any chance (plenty do)It's time the Pension Credit threshold was changed to include more pensioners like me.Pension credit is being phased out.
