Free Learning Exchange North Staffs/Stoke-on-Trent

I just wanted to let everyone know about our new site (mods - assuming this is allowed as it is a completely free and not-for-profit site) www.freelearningexchange.com

We feel that there are a huge number of people in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire with knowledge, skills and talents to share. Whether someone is a professional, tradesperson, homemaker, student, craftsperson, retired or none of the above, they all have some skill or area of knowledge to pass on.

Based on The Exchange that has been running successfully in Chicago USA for over 30 years, there are no certificates or qualifications involved, no classrooms and absolutely no fees of any kind.

The idea is that people contact us either by emailing via the site, or leaving a message on a voicemail number (to be added to the site soon) if they have no computer access, and let us know what subject they would like to either 1. share their knowledge of with someone 2. learn from someone else, or 3. meet up with people with a similar interest of. We at the site then just put them in touch.

The scheme is in its infancy, and the more people that we can get interested in it, the greater the variety of subjects we can feature, and the more useful it will be as a resource for the community in this area.

Please do go onto the site and have a look, and join in if you have ANYTHING you would like to teach, ANYTHING you would like to learn, or ANYTHING you would like to share with other people who are also interested.
