Part time pension, full time

Hi all, I worked for Essex County Council for 10 years, for approx 3 years I worked full time hours, whilst only having a part time contact. I put the extra hours down as over time. I now realise that I might have missed out on the extra pension, this would bring, does anyone know if this can be recovered? TYIA Steph x

I'm afraid not. If we are talking pre 2014 then only contractual hours were pensionable, so you (and your employer) wouldn't have paid pension contributions on your overtime earnings.stmoritz1960 said:Hi all, I worked for Essex County Council for 10 years, for approx 3 years I worked full time hours, whilst only having a part time contact. However, if any of your service was post 2014 then your pension accrual would have been under CARE, and your pension/contributions would have been based on your actual earnings, overtime included.2
