Hello,
So I have been sent the brown envelope but my finances are confusing to say the least. Does anyone know/ can recommend an NHS pensions specialist - have googled but would be to get recommendations. Did try wesleyan but charges are crazy. If anyone has any recommendations would be grateful and no, I don't want to do it myself..

Rachael Hall was recommended to me when I asked the question a while back. Not a personal recommendation as I decided to try to understand the thing myself. I think she’s up in Newcastle but can consult remotely. My practice uses Wesleyan for insurance purposes but one of my partners dealt with one of their pension advisers and would not recommend, albeit that may well be individual dependent.1

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1

I came across these people yesterday while looking for some help for a consultant friend who has also had the brown envelope: 3 ways your NHS pension is affected by The McCloud Remedy | Legal & Medical Investments Financial Advisers (legalandmedical.co.uk)
I've no experience of using them, and they might not cover your area, but you might find them cheaper than Wesleyan.
One think to check when looking to engage a tax adviser is whether they will accept liability if they make a mistake. I'm not sure I would use anyone who wouldn't accept liability, but I don't know how common this is in the industry.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1
