Stamp duty refund after mini-budget

I'm a first time buyer, and was in the process of purchasing my property as the mini-budget happened. Can my stamp duty be refunded? I'll post details below;

Property sold for £315,000

Exchange was 15th september

Completion was 28th September

If I can get a refund, how do I go about asking for it please?

    SDLT is due at the point of completion, so, since the change occurred before you completed, the new rates will apply. Talk to your conveyancer. They had 5 days after the change (23/9)to modify this, so I don't understand why you would have still been charged at the old rates?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Thankyou so much  :)

    Honestly, the conveyancer turned out to be less professional than I had hoped so....

    Anyway, is there no way of going direct to the "tax man"? I could do without dealing with the idiot conveyancer again if I can help it

    Was the SDLT you paid £750?

    If you search for “amendment of SDLT return” you should find an HMRC site explaining how to recover overpaid SDLT.
