French Resident - UK Loan?

Hi, I'd like to get a 25k loan. I am English, but have been living in France for about 2 years (I work here).

Are there any companies in the UK who would give me a loan? I have addresses and bank accounts in the UK, and currently have borrowings there (which I would combine into this new loan).

If you have accounts and an address that you're registered to in the UK then you should have a credit file and be able to get a loan, but 25k is a rather large amount so not so sure.

Are the interest rates not lower in France for personal loans?

PS. Out of interest, whereabouts are you in France?

Thanks guys. I thought I'd try to keep the debt in the UK. My French is a bit crap and doing this over here scares me! I just don't know where to start over here. I don't really care about interest rates, since I will be paying off between 11 and 14 grand in the next 2 or 3 months when I sell my boat & car in the UK. After this, I will make massive overpayments and try to kill it in a couple of years. Its really being done so I can reduce my outgoings to get a mortgage which I have been given an agreement in principle for, but with the lower loan repayment rate.

I live in Paris (in the 6th).
