Me neither. It might as well be written in Russian!

gm0's rather fantastic essay on the ongoing saga of Pensions Dashboard was very entertaining, and was beyond even my most cynical potential reply on what it's all about. I don't think I can adequately sum it up but I'll try...."it's a government project to bring all your pension data together on one easy-to-use internet platform, but so fraught with bureaucratic and data problems that no government minister will want to put his name to it. So it was supposed to be in place already but possibly never will see the light of day".

The amount of work we / my clients are doing about it already I should bloody hope it doesn't get binned but I wouldn't be surprised !

I'm still very cynical about large government IT projects. No matter what flavour the government. I haven't got over the NHS IT debacle - that was similar in that it wanted to join disparate systems and provide information in one place. And that was 20 years ago.

Today I go to my GP... who can't view records from the hospital in the same town. When I go to that hospital, it can't view my records from a hospital 10 miles away in a different country/health authority. It would be laughable if it wasn't about such a serious topic.

I hope the Pensions Dashboard has better governance.
