Barclays Tracker Mortgage?

Hi all, I’ve some questions about Barclays tracker mortgages. I see they offer ‘switch and fix’ for their tracker rates. Do any of you have experience of it and know whether this apply to their both their no fee / with fee tracker range?

And with this 'switch and fix' I go with a 5 year tracker, and at some point within the first 5 years I indeed would like to switch to a fix rate with Barclays:

1) will I have access to the existing customer deal?
2) will I be able to do this simply via online or app banking like you can with a normal rate switch? (As opposed to having to make appointments with them, etc.)
3) is this treated as a rate switch rather than a full scale remortgage including valuation and affordability check etc.?

If any of you have experience on this or could help shed some light on this that'd be much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, I do. Last year we took a no ERC tracker (with a fee) and switched after 1 month onto one of their fixed loyalty mortgages. Such a great feature!

Do any of you have experience of it and know whether this apply to their both their no fee / with fee tracker range?

Don't know the answer to this one I'm afraid. You could always call the mortgage team to double check, or download the full mortgage range document online and check  But make sure you take one with no ERC, otherwise you'll have a large penalty to pay when you switch

    1) will I have access to the existing customer deal?

    Yes

    2) will I be able to do this simply via online or app banking like you can with a normal rate switch? (As opposed to having to make appointments with them, etc.)

Yep. I did it over the phone because the option to switch was taking some time to show up online. You need to have made at least one payment. Then you can switch as normal.

    3) is this treated as a rate switch rather than a full scale remortgage including valuation and affordability check etc.?

    Yep exactly.

Thank you!!! Really appreciate it. Feels like it is a relatively quick and simple process then :)
