Credit Report missed payments impacting ability to get job and pay off debt....

I am in a very strange place with my credit report...
4-5 missed mortgage and credit card payments (due to loss of job and mental health issues) have meant that my credit report has taken a hit.
Now that I am a bit better, I am on the job market and have secured a job. However, I am required to pass a credit check, which I have failed due to the missed payments above hence cannot get a job in my niche.
Now obviously, I cannot start to pay the debt back or come to any arrangement if I cannot get a job (this I can provide via paper trail with the hiring company!).
Could the lenders be asked to 'update' the credit report to reflect, even if temporarily, no missed payments so I can get a job and start to pay off the debt via an arrangement?
I would really appreciate any guidance and advice. Thank you in advance

No the lenders cannot report false information so you can get a job.
And even if they would how would you explain the change in the results of the credit check to you prospective employers.
Have you offered to explain the situation with your credit history to them to see if there is any way around it?

Thank you for yoru reply. Yes have tried but the potential employer don't really care as there is a large pool of candidates who have just as much experience, if not more...
Feels like a bizarre situation as lenders would be worse off

As per the previous reply, a lender is not going to falsify information at your request. If you look at it objectively, this would nullify the whole point of credit records.soexhausted said:cannot get a job in my niche.

The most obvious solution would be to apply for less niche jobs, and ones that don't require a credit check. This would at least provide an income in the short to medium term, and allow you to get back on your feet.I do understand where you're coming from, and I've been there myself. My usual line of work is what would be classed as a "professional" occupation with a decent salary. But over the years, I've been made redundant a few times. When that happened, I took whatever I could - working in a supermarket, delivery driver, washing pots in a hotel, anything just to keep a bit of income coming in to tide me over. There are plenty jobs out there if you're not too proud to turn your hand to something that's not your usual line of work.0
