    40p/kWh seems a rather high value to put on your own generation - especially if that's your off-peak rate.

    Basing it on the fact that I'd have to import additional peak time units at 40p. Appreciate it's not that simple, as I may export that additional power and so sell at 15p and buy back at 40p - but 40p represents the best case 
  • Not sure if it helps but SE optimisers maintain the voltage of all panels at a high voltage. They can also be connected in a long single string. Presumably this means the DC voltage will be higher than a string inverter system, which may help the DC transmission losses.
