I’ve long proposed the much hated inheritance tax shouldn’t go to central government coffers, but rather be to fenced and distributed conditionally to young people for hounding needs.

@Albermarle Sorry did try to quote but my PC is having a meltdown. I agree with your general sentiments, but regarding the sentences highlighted in bold. The shortage of labour means that many employers are forced to actually improve terms and conditions, to try and get/keep  staff ,

Maybe in some sectors but big organisations like the Railway, Royal Mail etc are trying to reduce Terms and Conditions and along with pay are  one of the reasons they are on strike. As per Mick Lynch, the RMT Leader (who was great on TV before our press realised that he spoke too much sense and dont seem to have him on anymore.)

They are seeking to rip up working practices and conditions, agreements that protect our members and in doing so they will drive up unsocial hours, work fatigue and occupational ill health.

OK so some big organisations with very good employment T's and C's are trying to reduce them.
At the lower end of the scale, where the most vacancies are, employers are having to improve them and wages.
eg Uber, Care agencies , hospitality , zero hours workers etc
