  • If you are in business the people to talk to are business Debtline.
    Otherwise try Stepchange.
Please don't involve yourself with companies that charge you for help.
Stick to the debt free charities

If your business is insolvent use Business Debtline for help.

For personal insolvency you don't need to involve anyone as you can apply via the gov.uk website at a cost of £680. However, it is best to take advice first so that you can work out the best option for your circumstances

As well as Business Debtline, both of these will not charge you:

    StepChange Debt Charity

A full debt help service is available across the UK. Online support is also available via its debt advice tool where you can create a budget and get a personal action plan with practical next steps. You can also ask a StepChange adviser a question on our dedicated MSE Forum page.
