For the benefit of anyone involved with Halloween parties, or who might receive trick-or-treaters, what are some easy-to-make, no-oven snacks?

Squeamish folk - you might not like these.
For example:
- Candy floss can be pulled apart and arranged to look like spider webs (or you can make your own candyfloss at home, which looks fun, but likely more cost and a lot more effort).
- Peeled grapes can be eyes.
- A seedless red jam can be used as blood.

I cant but I am sure Instagram could.1

How about using some liquorice shoelaces and a marshmallow to make a spider? I've seen edible eyes for sale in the cake decorating section at Mr T's and Sainsbo's and I think they stick on with a drop of water.1

Pre cooked cocktail sausages with a flaked almond stuck in the end as a fingernail for severed fingers and tomato sauce dip for blood.

If you just want some basic microwave desserts to serve these are lovely
Microwave sponge cake
- 2 eggs
- 150ml oil
- 150ml milk
- 150g sugar
- 5ml vanilla essence
- 1 cup plain flour or SR flour and only one tsp of baking powder
- 3 tsp baking powder
- Sprinkle the top with pinch of sugar to give it crusty top
- Microwave for 5-6 minutes (it will look wet on top)
- To make chocolate cake take out two tablespoons of flour and add two tablespoons cocoa powder
Microwave s’mores dip
100g Milk Chocolate
180g Marshmallows cut into small cubes with scissors
30ml Any Milk
- Break up the chocolate and put into a microwave dish pan, along with the milk and half of the marshmallows once chopped small.
- Gently heat until the chocolate and marshmallows have melted together. Stir well.
- Put the other half of the marshmellows on top then serve with plain biscuits on the side to dip into it

you'll probably come up with some great instructions if you google "finger sandwiches"!! I'd be using brown (to give definition) bread with a bit of cream cheese painted on for the nail and either ketchup or red currant jelly or similar for the blood.
quite frankly tinned lychees look ridiculously close enough to eyeballs at the best of times to keep me from eating them. but if you have a melon baller you could make some up easily with a melon - preferably one with the white/greenish flesh.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards.
