Getting a loan with nothing in the post

I am hoping someone here can help me.

My current partner is very protective/jealous and they insist on seeing all of my post and correspondence. I know that he also checks my phone whenever I leave it lying around.

I have a good income, but I need more control of my own money. Are there any loan providers who will allow me to apply for and secure a loan online without ever sending me any correspondence in the post? My email is thankfully fully private, so email approval / scanning documents etc is fine.

  • I don’t wish to digress from the main question you’ve raised but rarely does having debt and the partner not knowing ever work out. I’ve read many a threads whereby someone is hiding large amounts of debt from their partner, which ultimately gets found out and ends badly.

Can you really not sit down and have an adult conversation about your finances?

Even if you could apply for a loan completely online (most are this way now), there will still be the odd bit of post as they are legally bound to send you annual statements as a minimum.
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £51,300)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £138,087.38 (Payment 11/360)
    Total Debt = £1,125.00 (0%APR) @ £112.50pm

I agree with others' comments about the abuse.

It's the first thing you mention, which means that it's very relevant.

Sorry to say that this is not a healthy relationship. Having your internet or social media use monitored, or someone else reading your texts, emails or letters is one of the signs of abuse.

If you did decide to apply for a loan while you are still with this person then you could ask the lender to deal with you online only but sometimes they do need to send a code or other information through the post.

As an alternative, if you decide to stay where you are, you could perhaps use someone else's address, say that of a close relative?

Please do take care. There are many organisations you can contact.

I wouldnt be so sure that your email is completely private. There are lots of ways of accessing email accounts.
  • I've never heard of the possibility of taking a loan online. Most likely, it's some scammer.

Pretty much all banks lend online, just send paperwork though the post
