Small Pot after insolvency

So I have a small pot in a pension fund. Less than 4k. I’ve tried to retrieve this after the company went into administration and then eventually insolvency. The pension fund won’t release it as there was 2 months worth of payments missed. I’ve contacted the administrators and they say this was missed when they dealt with the case and because they have discharged themselves and the company was wound up they now cannot legally claim from the government scheme for the missing payments. The pension company won’t pay out the small pot until the missing payments are made. What can I do in this catch 22 situation I find myself in. Any suggestions welcome

One obvious possibility is to pay the two months payments yourself. Others who know more may suggest some alternative.
  • Not really an option at the moment.
    But thanks for the comment

Would it maybe more accurate to say that ' the junior person I have had contact with at the pension provider says this'

Just thinking that if the issue is pushed up to a higher level, a solution might be possible? Do not know that for sure of course .
  • Unfortunately not the case have had a letter from pension company explaining their position advising me to contact administrators which I have done and they can’t help as they have discharged themselves. Did relay this back but have not heard back. Just seems no one wants to help.
