Barclays Underwriters- Still waiting for Decision

Hi, I'm currently going through a Mortgage broker and have applied on 28th Sept, all documents have been sent across.  Is there a Telephone number I can ring with Barclays to find out a little more, even though I have no Ref number from my MB. My MB seems to be very vague and the replies/Response ''is its in their hands and they are really busy'' due to the Lizz Truss Budget announcement several weeks ago. Any advice would be most appreciated

Hi, has any forum members had any experience with Barclays please via a Broker? I'm struggling to receive any positive news from our current Broker. Thank you

I've put 2 in the same day and not had a response either.  One on 30th and another on 4th.  Silence on all of them. 

Basically they are working through an astronomical amount of applications as they had a very very good 10yr fix and were the last ones to drop it. 

Unfortunately its a waiting game but you're not alone and your timescales aren't unusual.

Also you dont want to be chasing them.  Firstly they won't tell you as its a broker case. And secondly their hold times are horrible at the moment. I got cut off after nearly 2 hours today

Hi, Thank you for your answers it looks like we have to just stick it out and hope the Sellers don't pull out due to being impatient.

@bigwheels36 I finally managed to get through to Barclays today on their livechat and they have escalated my cases for response within 24 hours.  Be worth pushing your broker to do similar

@bigwheels36 Unless there's a line I'm not aware of, it's a broker LC, accessible only once the individual broker logs in. In case you aren't aware, JMA is a broker.

Thank you, I'm still waiting but I've managed to gain a Ref No from my MB and on Barclays Track It it states a Valuation has been applied and approved?  Also my Solicitor has asked for payment to carry out searches , but without the Mortgage being approved What do i say to the Solicitors please?

Wow, that's quick, I've been waiting since 29th Sept when we submitted all documents and 7 days later asked for further documents. Its very stressful waiting if its going to be a NO or YES answer.
