CCJ settled outside of month timeframe

Options
Hi all

I had a question that I was hoping I could get some guidance on. Essentially, I was issued with a CCJ claim form on the 16th August 2022 which I did not reply to, which related to an outstanding parking fine that I thought had gone away. I was then subsequently issued with the judgment on the 8th September 2022 given I did not reply to the first letter within the 14 days I'm allowed. I planned to settle the judgment before the month period elapsed, e.g. before the 8th October 2022, so the judgment would be removed from my credit file.

Unfortunately, I didn't do this - I actually settled the judgment on the 9th October 2022 (a Sunday), so a day outside the timeframe. I logged on to make this payment on the 8th October 2022 (a Saturday) but for some reason Monzo wasn't letting me make the payment. I don't know whether that was some issue with Monzo, the bank I was trying to send the payment to, or something else altogether.

My query is - do I have a chance of getting the creditor to instruct the court to remove the CCJ altogether given it's only one non-working day? My initial argument back to them (which has been refuted), is that I couldn't make the payment on the 8th for the reasons I've described above and it's immaterial to them whether it was paid on the Saturday or the Sunday given they'd only actually notice on the Monday. I don't know if it's worth pursuing with them or whether this is something I'd have to query with the court separately. They did tell me that the judgment would now be marked as 'Satisfied', but clearly I'm after a different outcome.

A disclaimer - I know that this has happened through my own disorganisation and ignoring a problem. I am frustrated at myself for a) not replying to the original letter and b) leaving it so late to settle the judgment. I'd really appreciate not being reminded of that and only having constructive responses to the above.

Any help/advice/guidance, or sharing similar examples, would be highly appreciated.

Guidance states you have one month to clear the judgement in full, in order to have the CCJ removed from your file.
So, it would depend on the definition of one month, it`s usually considered to be 30 days, yet some months have 31 days, both are referred to as "one month" though.

Add to that the 30th day, the 8th of October, was a Saturday, so I guess you could have an argument in your defence here, all I would say is try and get the creditor to agree, that`s all you can do.
