If you're one of the 46,000 Safe Hands customers left in the lurch after the funeral provider went bust in March - and you can't get a refund from your card firm - you'll need to contact Safe Hands' administrator to get your money. But you'll only receive up to 20% of what you're owed. You also need to consider alternative funeral arrangements as Safe Hands' plans will no longer be honoured from November...

Just registered as I am dealing with my mothers affairs. She is old and gets confused. She paid up in FULL to safe hands and as she cannot deal with stuff (I am her Power of Attorney) I need to sort her affairs out. She gets confused and mentioned that she saw on TV Martin Lewis say that if you had paid Safe Hands in FULL before they went bust that she could contact the FCA/Ombudsman and get the money she paid back. Is this the case as I cannot find anything on this site nor online!!

According to the article, the administrators would only be paying out 20% of what customers would be owed. As this was about a year ago, there is a possibility that the administrators have paid out everything from the assets and there is nothing left to pay out.
