Another PV and battery quote

Options
Hi, just wanted to get your opinion on a quote my brother has received. Based on what I have read on this board, I think it looks ok, but it is always nice to get a broader opinion.

The total quote is from a new company called Make My House Green and is for £15,700. It includes:
7.8kWp panels (20×390W) (either JA or QCell according to supply availability)
6kW Solis hybrid inverter
2×3.5kWhr Pylon batteries
20 optimisers (because there is a big tree to the east that shades part of the roof)
IBoost immersion diverter
Scaffolding
MCS registration

The quote also clarifies that the installer will sort the DNO G99 application and gives a timeframe of 3-4 months till install.

Thanks.

Looks pretty darn expensive to me to be honest.
8kw of panels say £10k including optimisers
    Diverter say £500 installed
    3.5 pylons are around £1200
Here is the larger one at £1660

So I'd be looking for maybe £13k or £13.5k

He may be able to work them down.

  • I should add that he is in Surrey.

  • Doesn't the inverter make up the difference between his quote and your suggested price?

Agree with Solarchaser - the quote is a bit too high. Additionally, components are all budget Chinese brands.

A recent quote for the Surrey area I've seen:

    20X 400W Sharp Panels
    20X SolarEdge Optimizers
     1 X SolarEdge Inverter

25 year warranty on everything. ~ £10K. Add another £440 for a MyEnergi Eddi diverter.

Hope this helps give you a steer.
