I opted for click and collect. The seller took so long to dispatch my item that I am no longer able to pick up my parcel, nor have I got anyone to pick it up for me. I will have to let my item go. I know the parcel will be held for 7 days, which I think (correct me if I'm wrong) it is returned to the seller? Once it is returned to the seller, do I have to do anything to get a refund? Do eBay start the refund process?

I'm a bit nervous of the seller giving me a straightforward refund because they have been giving me lies and the runaround to get the item posted. I had purchased 4 items from 4 different sellers on the same day; 3 arrived in the time stated, but this one took 2 weeks just to get it dispatched. I wouldn't have ordered from them, if I knew it would take almost 3 weeks to arrive.

Sellers have to state their despatch times in their listings, if seller stated a slow despatch then you are being unfair penalising the seller by costing them postage to send your item. If however seller stated the usual 2-3 days then You could have opened an INR case the day after the last estimated delivery date and got your refund a week later.

As it stands now the item will go back to the seller and only once it has been received safely will you get your refund within 2 days of the seller receiving it.

It should be automatic. Eventually the status will show as returned to sender . From my point of view as a seller it then took anywhere between 3 -10 days to get back to me and once received back I had to issue a refund within 2 days.

It might well have changed since, and I think it certainly worth checking that receipt by the holding site doesn’t count as delivered. I’m assuming this was the proper click and collect through eBay and not just you choosing a third party site as your address .
