Selling second hand watches

I am thinking of selling a couple of watches that I own to generate a bit of extra cash... one is a Tag Heuer and the other one a Tudor. Does anybody have experience of selling these kinds of mid-range watches? In terms of best place to sell, low commissions etc
Also - neither have been serviced in quite some time, does anybody know if it is worth spending the money on getting a service when it comes to resale value i.e. would I recoup more than the service cost or is it not worth it ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Plenty of examples of both makes of watches on eBay, but i don't know what their fees would be like. You may have a local bricks and mortar auction house which has sales of more specialist items but commission could be 20%. If you do use eBay make sure you fully insure the watch before sending off to the buyer, watches can easily "get lost" or arrive "broken".
Regarding servicing the watches, even if you lose out a little on the cost, it could make the watch more saleable. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Unless there are issues with the watches then servicing them is unlikely to add value in excess of the cost of service.
eBay would be my choice, there will always be a risk that some scammer buys them and then claims you sent them a fake etc but thankfully in 20 years of selling on eBay only ever had 1 customer who was anything but honest. There is also the likes of Chrono24 for a more dedicated market but have no experience as a seller there.
Low risk but high cost will be selling them to a secondhand watch company but they will need to clean/service it and make a profit so will offer substantially less than private sale. Or there is the fun of the auction but commissions are high.0
