Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, dry start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was spag bol - tonight I'm not sure, but I do have baocn, mushrooms and an open can of beans that need using up - this is likely to become dinner.
Working my usual Thursday and a short day - once I finish today I'm on days off until going back on Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off nmlc. There's fog outside and drizzle. Yesterday the drizzle lasted all day, I think it's worse than proper rain. I ventured out for baking supplies, eggs and lemons. I found granulated sugar in a cupboard here so zapped it in the blender to make caster sugar. Lemon drizzle cake smells lovely, I'll need to make one for myself soon. The drizzle was more of a pain to make than I expected - I sifted the icing sugar but when I added the lemon juice lumps formed so there are tiny white splodges all over it. Luckily the recipient won't care. 😀I'm heading off to Glasgow shortly. I've got a few things to do before having lunch with my late DM's faithful crossword friend, he's 77 today. My eldest nephew is 50 today, both birthdays on the same day as my late dear father who would have been 107 today, all very spooky.I'm sending good vibes out everywhere. happy Thursday to all.11

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
It's very cold out this morning but dry for a change, rain due later. Yesterday afternoon was quite nice and we actually had a little bit of sunshine with blue skies!
Well, my fridge is empty and switched off, I've managed to eek out the fresh stuff so there's been no waste, the remaining butter and spread has gone in the freezer. Seems silly to keep the fridge on when I'm not here, probably wouldn't have given it a second thought if it weren't for the energy price rises! I'm just about packed, just need to decide what to wear to travel in.
We were told yesterday that we have a new Head Teacher joining us after the half term holiday, hopefully they can get a handle on the behaviour. The acting head and depute will revert to their previous roles.
Hope everyone is well or recovering. Gers, enjoy your trip to Glasgow, the cake sounds delicious.
Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A dry and sunny day in store for us - but sadly far from warm!
We had a pleasant day out yesterday, most of it riding on buses and sat by a roaring fire enjoying an extended lunch and a bottle of wine. As usual lots to talk about and the day passed too quickly. I finally fell through the door at 7 pm.
Another day and yet another meal out. Today is my lovely Bob's anniversary and, as usual, DD suggested a meal out. Nothing fancy, she has booked for tea at the carvery after school. . All 3 DGDs will be with us which will be lovely. I haven't seen the eldest since she started uni so she will have lots to talk about I'm sure.
As we are not going until 4.00 I have no excuse for not addressing a few jobs this morning. Kitchen and bathroom cleaning top of the list. And the washing basket is looking a bit full so that needs sorting too.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies or fed up. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -

Up early to go cleaning my gym and then a private house but my youngest rescue cat has decided to sit on me. It's raining here today. DP is in bed, DS is at work. DP is off to pick up a metal fire place he bought off fleabay for his outdoor cooking area. It's raining here today which is good. Dinner tonight will be something with chicken.
Have a good day all 😊10 -
Morning all and thanks for starting us off nmlc x
I too love lemon drizzle cake @Gers - no-one to bake for now the children are off into the world, plus me being at FC doesn't help!
Enjoy your trip @camelot1001 x
Get well soon @IzzyBee - I hope the ABs kick in soon
Thinking of you and your family today @TravellingAbuela x
The OA in my hands is really painful at the moment. Doing all this decorating doesn't help matters, nor does the change in temperature! We rubbed down and undercoated the box room wood last night plus moved all the office furniture back into the dining room/home office. Lounge flooring being done today and will be finished tomorrow all being well. We are nearly there thank goodness. @-taff - I can highly recommend the French!c paint - as long as you lightly rub down and key the surface it goes on a treat. 2 coats and it totally transforms things - will try to PM you some photos.
We have nothing in the house for tea tonight, so I will hunt and gather at lunchtime. Weather looks a bit ropey today so I'll need to wrap up.
Hugs to all those struggling xx

News from the other moany one who has told the SL worker that she loves coming to me and wants to still come I was told to think about it overnight but I just cant get on with her so I am going to say no, it was a relief when I thought she would not be coming back !
Gers I use caster sugar for the topping on a lemon drizzle cake, makes for a nice crunchy topping xx
TA thinking of you today xx
I got an indian chapati kit while shopping so will make that for dinner tonight, wm is on and doing its thing.
Hope you all have good days xx

Morning all; misty here today.
I've had a hectic few days as we've taken D Sis in Law to both Wimbledon and Windsor; excellent trips but I think we've worn her out! Quieter day today then driving her to Heathrow tomorrow via lunch at The Grimsdyke, where Gilbert (of Gilbert and Sullivan) drowned in the lake whilst trying to save a girl from drowning.
One load of washing in the machine and might get round to some ironing later. @Gers my lemon drizzle cakes often have lumps of icing sugar on the top. It all adds to the home made character!
Just had a friend message to try and arrange meeting up for lunch so had better get a move on.
Have a good day everyone.10 -
Morning everyone
Well my heating worked lovely last night but didn't come on this morning plus the hot water is cold. I've phoned and the plumber will come back - hopefully before I have to go to work later.
Another nice bright morning - we've had a really nice week here.
Eldest DD sent me lots of interesting photos last night - of the mill she visited and the different processes in making cotton and then inside the factory and all the stages involved in making the clothing. She says it's really interesting but tiring as they get picked up early every morning to travel to the mills and factories. Last day of working today and then she has the weekend to explore Istanbul.
I have little kitten purring very loudly next to me - she wants to lie on top of the laptop! She's a very cuddly little girl.
TA enjoy your meal tonight with your girls - lots of happy memories to share I'm sure
Gers - enjoy your trip to Glasgow, I'm sure your cake will be much appreciated
Enjoy your trip Camelot
I'm giving up Trixie kitten is trying to catch the letters on the screen. Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Hello all, we took down the conifer after all! Mr Fix It went a bit mad with the saw and all that's left now is the trunk, about 8ft of it. I managed to chop up some of the branches and fill 2 green waste bins before the rain started. It's dry this morning but everything is soggy and rain is still forecast for later. I have some ironing to do, my least favourite job, and the dw will need emptying today. How's that for excitement.
We had gammon slices and cheesy mash for tea yesterday and there's some mash left over so I'll have that with a piece of salmon today, himself will have a sf chicken breast and chips.
TA thinking of you, enjoy your tea with all your girls.
Camelot enjoy your break. Hope the new head can sort out the bad behaviour asap.
Gers It doesn't matter what the cake looks like, it's the taste that matters and I'm sure it will be lovely.
RedRuby good on you for sticking to your guns about the moany one, it's no good dreading her arrival every time.
Izzy glad you're feeling a bit better.
Take care and hugs to anyone in need.
