Magic of Christmas @ NEC - Free Tickets!

Many thanks to snowman2007!!!
We went today after calling and getting 4 free tickets (2 adults and 2 children).
This freebie was worth about £71 (the price of a family ticket and free souvenir guide worth £6).
Review:
The theming is excellent! from the opening of the doors you are invited to walk through a snowy christmas tree forest up to the gates of Father Christmas' castle (?!) door.
The children knock and we're all invited in.
You then walk through and meet the fairy who will be charged with the task of helping Father Christmas restore Christmas Magic.
You walk through about 5 themed rooms before meeting the big, red, bearded man himself.
The children make this event as they were all so excited!
You then walk out into another forest and FC invites you to wander around his village.
The village comprises of a Christmas Market, softplay areas, a stage, singing and a theatre. All running with a cold, wintery theme.
My little one had loads of fun playing and I had fun looking at the quaint christmas stalls.
The magical theatre was superb - I won't give the game away, but it's very clever.
Food-wise: Take a packed lunch with you - there is a picnic area.
Also, we wish that we'd left the pushchair at home, but that's just us. It certainly wasn't cold in the venue and we were left lugging our winter coats, pushchairs and all the other paraphernalia that having a child ensures you're never without!!
The kind staff let us hide this lot in the forest though - so that was a bonus!
Bearing in mind that we went in for free, I'd have been disappointed with the venue had we paid as there was not enough to do to warrant the fees being asked for - that said - there was lots to do, just not in keeping with the fee's (it must've cost a fortune to put on, and I guess the costs need to be recouped somehow!!!).
My reasoning is this: We'd have paid £65 for the tickets, £6 for the guide, £7 for the parking and petrol - all in all, about £88 for us.
I would say that it would be worth the midweek £10 saver ticket, but not the full £17.50.
I would've liked for the walkthrough live event to be a little bit longer, but again that's just me - I've worked in theatre design and productions, so appreciate the production values (just me wanting a busmans holiday!!)
Easily the best freebie on this board this year - super day out!

Yippee just booked tickets for tomorrow. I called using a normal number not an expensive one. Number is: 0121 780 3127, had to hold for a few minutes but hey it saved me £40.00 so I'm not complaining. Can't wait to go, think I'm more of a kid than the kids are!!0

fiddlesticks - would do this but kids wouldn't thank for if they missed all their parties and goodbyes at school. This mainly targeted at pre-school children?0
