Mortgage on 'mostly benefits' income?

I'm really keen to apply for a mortgage as a first-time buyer but realise it's extremely difficult in the current climate and fear it will be near-impossible given my circumstances. I'm self employed with very low income and a recipient of Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment which makes up the majority of my earnings. I'm registered as having 'limited capability for work' due to an illness and wondered whether anyone knows of any UK mortgage lenders who might consider or specialise in mortgages for people who are ill/disabled/benefits-only earners, and if anyone has an experience of this? Thanks
