Body Shop butter turned into candle wax

Hello, I know this is pure trivia in a world of absolute mayhem but I'm so disappointed today with the Shea Body 'butter' that the Body Shop has sent me. I did an online order - because we are still isolating as we're two poor souls who are still extremely vulnerable. Anyhoo, the Shea body butter I've loved for years has changed. And now it's the consistency of firm candle wax. No more the buttery substance I could slather all over to soothe my very dry skin. What have they done?? They've ruined one of the best moisturisers on the market. (I know, not everyone will think that but I did).
I'm going to phone them later to chat about it calmly but I feel as if I've thrown my hard earned dosh away. I don't know if anyone else has suffered such disappointment but how could they change the formula without letting me know? They've change the packaging so it's now 100% recyclable (not sure about the lid) which is great. But I was expecting the same gorgeous cream of days gone by to be inside. More fool me. In my experience 'new improved formula' usually means 'you won't like this'.
So that's my vent, it's not vociferous but it's really just to release some frustration. Why can't manufacturers just leave well enough alone? Thank you for reading and I'm sorry for the triteness but it's just the way things have been progressing today where I am.

maybe it has more shea butter in it - thats a good thing! If you keep it in a wmr place it may soften into the texture you prefer"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Body Shop now bears no resemblance to the company founded by Anita Roddick in the 70s, we used to take our own containers to be filled etc. etc.
In 2006 she sold out to L'Orial and then in 2017 it was passed on to Natura.
Both these companies are more interested in profits for shareholders than quality of products and the environment.1 -
I had this same thing happen with a Boots moisturiser. I had a small pot of Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter that was thick and creamy, perfect. When it ran out I bought a lovely big tub that turned out to be solid like you described your Body Shop one. I went to look at reviews and they were full of people complaining about the consistency but half were saying 'too creamy' and half were saying 'too solid'!!! Lots mentioning that the word butter implies a solid product.
I went back to the store, looked through all the pots on the shelf, all were different consistencies, some solid, some creamy. I chose the one I liked best and they exchanged it for me no questions asked.0 -
"And now it's the consistency of firm candle wax."That would certainly get on my wick! Sorry, couldn't resist.2
