Yes that was my plan - just hang on till 1st November then switch without any charge. I decided though to pay the ERC today to secure the deal as I'm worried it might not be there come 1st November.Irn_Dru said:
Hi! I take it you are waiting until Nov 1st because that's when your current fixed runs out - and so no ERC would be payable? Just checking in case I can absolve myself from paying the ERC! I have 1 year left on my 2 year fixed...hildosaver said:I just rang Halifax and they confirmed that I would be eligible to switch to the 3yr rate of 3.69% on 1st November which is brilliant news for me - just hope to goodness that rate is still available on that date. I could switch now but it would cost me just over £1k to do it so for the sake of 3 weeks I am willing to take the chance.
They said this was an offer just launched as a gesture from the bank to their customers due to the current cost of living crisis.I am insane and have 4 mortgages - total mortgage debt £200k. Target to zero = 10 years! (2030)1 -
Sucks to pay a fee but think of it as an application fee and it's easier to swallow. I don't think you will regret taking that deal1
