Buying a kindle and comparison / review sites in general?

I'm thinking of buying a kindle.
Partly because everyone I know has got one so I think it's something I'm missing out on.
I'm a bit behind the times with comparison sites when I buy electrical goods, so which are sites that are often used for reviews and prices.
kind regards and thanks

Don’t buy one unless you think you are actually going to use it. It’s just going to sit in the cupboard otherwise. If you want specifically a kindle, then that is Amazon so unless you’re buying secondhand or refurb you’ll most likely be buying direct from Amazon on whatever their price of the day is. You might get a better deal if you wait till Black Friday. You also need to decide whether you just want any reader whether you want an e-reader tablet combined which is what most kindles are.

Really? What do you feel you are missing out on, other than being part of the club of Kindle owners?Mayaboo said:I'm thinking of buying a kindle.Partly because everyone I know has got one so I think it's something I'm missing out on.
Ask everyone you know how often they use theirs, whether it was worth buying and (ahem!) if they'd lend you theirs for a few days to see whether you actually liked using one.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
My husband bought me my 8th and 9th Kindles for Christmas. Whether basic or fancy, I find that the battery life isn't great, but I turn a Kindle on when I get up and turn off when I go to sleep.Mayaboo said:I'm thinking of buying a kindle.Partly because everyone I know has got one so I think it's something I'm missing out on.I'm a bit behind the times with comparison sites when I buy electrical goods, so which are sites that are often used for reviews and prices.

A smaller one is good for reading (I have Kindle Unlimited) and a bigger one is great for watching Amazon Prime, Freevee, YouTube etc as the picture quality is excellent. The smaller ones also fit in trouser pockets, whch is handy if you listen to music via headphones.
The onscreen keyboard is good, because you can add accents easily and it's kinder on fingers than a laptop keyboard.
It's easy to add email addresses as well.
The camera is decent and it's simple to upload the photos to Amazon Photos or add them to emails.
They aren't phones but great for anything else. Much more intuitive than iPhones.
Kindles work with many apps eg Evernote, Wordpress, Sugar Crush etc.
I would highly recommend them !0
