How easy is it to remortgage with your existing lender? We are with Santander and granted the mortgage market is CRAZY at the moment. But wanted to know if we remortgaged with our lender (santander) do they do any affordability checks etc like you go through for an initial mortgage? When we first applied for our mortgage it was absolutely horrendous and it nerves me thinking I have to go through all of that again. I read on santander if you remortgage with them as your current lender they do no affordability checks but I can’t seem to find it anymore!

What you're planning is termed a Product Switch, not a remortgage, and, it usually doesn't involve any renewed check - i don't the specifics of particular lenders though.
You're current deal will end and if you've arranged a switch of products the information pack will be sent out with no other actions by yourself.2 -
@brookelucy What the poster above said. A Santander PT will not normally involve any affordability checks, credit checks or underwriting.
With Santander, once you're within 4 or 5 months of the fix ending, you should be able to see what's being offered to you online.Brookelucy said:How easy is it to remortgage with your existing lender?
