Employment after Bankruptcy

Hi I am new to all of this but need some advice.
I was made Bankrupt in 2011, obviously since then I have been discharged, done my 6 years and life is normal. However I have recently been offered a bank job as a manager. It didn't even occur to me that my bankruptcy would be a factor and indeed I had forgotten about it. However they are going to have to do some quite serious background checks and I'm guessing one of the questions will be have I ever been made bankrupt? I am going to be 100% honest and admit it. I am guessing the answer will preclude me with immediate effect and it probably serves me right.
I have also noticed that whilst my name is no longer on the insolvency register it does still show in the London Gazette.
Any advice/help would be great.

Yes. Answer any questions honestly. What else is there to say?
There will be no record on your credit file either. That will have dropped off in 2017.0 -
Appreciate your direct answer. I am aware that there is no record of my bankruptcy on my credit file, however any vetting company worth their salt will check all media and past records, where unfortunately it is still recorded.0
