National insurance still not done 2021 /22

Anyone else still waiting for their NI record to be updated?
I am 7 years short and am 59 now so need to know soon...
How long do I have to wait?

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Thanks - so it's just a matter of waiting for HMRC to pull their fingers out ?
I am sure that past years had been sorted by now - especially when I owed THEM money

Additional tax owed for 2021:22 wouldn't be payable until 31 January 2023 so if that's your yardstick there's still a way to go!

Mine hasn't been done yet and according to my spreadsheet they owe me a very small rebate.

Well, you have six years to make it up to full if your concern is that it may not be, which is still before your State Retirement Age, so the need to know isn't necessarily that urgent......
Mine always used to be updated around October, but as I now make voluntary contributions via monthy DD direct to HMRC it;s already showing as complete..
  • I am supposed to be receiving NI Credits based on a "credits only" claim but don't believe that it is being done...

  • I've been receiving Carer Credits for the last 3 years and these have been put on my NI record in May. These are Class 3 NI credits awarded to me for caring for a disabled relative for 20 or more hours per week. If you are claiming Specified Adult Child Care Credits for caring for a child, I think you have to wait until at least October. This is to allow HMRC to check that the parent receiving Child Benefit doesn't need the credit themselves.

    @Blue_Butterfly
These are not carers or parental credits - they are in my own right - for disability without any benefits
I had to have a virtual work capability assessment but receive zero ESA/UC
I am supposed to receive class1 credits
    October - which year ?

  • I have been credited with 42 weeks NI credits for last TY
Do I benefit from this or do I NEED to add another 10 weeks ?

"You have contributions from National Insurance credits: 42 weeks

These may have been added to your record if you were ill/disabled, unemployed, caring for someone full-time or on jury service.

You can make up the shortfall - Pay a voluntary contribution of £154 by 5 April 2028. This shortfall may increase after 5 April 2024".
