Hello.
My wife has received a P800 saying she is due a tax rebate.
On the letter it states that the rebate has been sent to theclaimsguysleagal.
My wife says she has never heard of them or signed up to them, also they will not have any way of paying her as they don't have any of her bank details.
Is the best way forward to inform HMRC that she has not asked them to do anything on her behave and remove them from her file.

has she been contacted by someone suggesting she could be due a refund of tax ?
Or recommended to do so by a friend, colleague etc.?
Has she looked at a website about claiming a tax refund and clicked on anyhing?
She could phone HMRC and ask hat have they received from this company and ask for a copy. Best time to phone is as soon as lines open.0
