Hi all

Been researching solar for a few weeks now and learnt a far bit about the kit involved however after recieving a number of quotes im still struggling with the high prices i'm being quoted considering the 0% vat and basic cost of the kit in many cases

Ive had various quotes around 12-13k for 5-6kw of panels and a battery
Roof is roughly WSW/ENE facing

Quote 1
13* Eurener Zebra 385w panels (west facing) - 4.9KW
Growatt invertor (size unknown at present)
10kw battery system
Fully installed (MCS etc)
10year warranty on all components
£12100

Quote 2
15 * DMEGC 400w panels (split E/W) - 6KW
Lux 3.6kW Hybrid invertor
2x Greenlinx 3.2kw batteries
Fully installed (MCS etc)
10 year warraties
£13000

Quote 1 uses an outdoor mounted AC battery similar to Powerwall i believe with power cut options, 10000cycles, high output, etc however the cost to spread the panels across both roof put the cost up a fair bit and not sure where id stick the battery outside

These seem expensive to me (thoughts) however i've had 2 other quotes, local installers and they were in the same ball park.

Anyone have recommendations in West Midlands area of a good / competitive installer as i'm struggling at present

Thanks in advance
