Let’s see… AJ Bell permits advisers. Are they “fudging”? How?0

Hi dunstonh can you just remind us who pays for the FOS?0

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

A quick look at FOS's website gives you an immediate answer: https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/files/1874/QG1.pdfBear_keeper said:Hi dunstonh can you just remind us who pays for the FOS?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -
I think experience shows some IFAs can't answer direct questions. Such a shame.
Thanks to those who have added openly to this subject and I hope it is informative to others.0 -
And thank you for posting. It serves as a useful reminder that what someone writes in a post on here about what happened shouldn't be taken as the truth. The FOS publication was most enlightening.Bear_keeper said:I think experience shows some IFAs can't answer direct questions. Such a shame.

Several have given their opinion on whether this was 'unprofessional conduct or not'.Bear_keeper said:Thanks for all the comments although I though it was a straight forward question but it looks like none are prepared to answer, which if you are an IFA I can appreciate however I'm struggling with the comment;
You had other questions in your original post:We have tried to keep this concise & we do hope you can give an unbiased view on our experiences & what if anything we may have missedIt's been pointed (not just by IFAs) out that your account wasn't unbiased and that you did miss some things.or done wrong or as we believe the IFA has not been professionalSome have clarified that you did the right thing (filing a complaint with FOS) and that the IFA was unprofessional in a relatively minor matter.& is there an organisation that could say if we have a case against the IFA.Yes, the FOS.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.1
