Hi just arrived home to find a letter from hidendatax requesting I fill out the forms or be charged £300 for their services regarding marital refund. What the hell... I have never requested their services   I'm divorced and I have looked at the e signature which is unrecognisable plus they have my name wrong however the address is correct, what do I do please help.

This is the welfare benefits section of the forum. You're better off posting in the cutting tax part.

If the name is wrong mark the envelope ‘not known at this address’ and put it back in the post box.

The bizarre thing with this is that someone who applies for Marriage Allowance can never pay less tax as a result.

It's the recipient who gets the tax refund and it's not something they can claim, only the person agreeing to a reduced Personal Allowance can make the application.
