When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

    Evening all :)
Thanks for starting the thread @Bagpuss741
Late posting today, but got loads done:
    Dog walk first thing
Fruit from fridge (needed using up) for breakfast
    Hoovered through downstairs o:)
Load of washing, dried outside on the line
Made a spicy fruit loaf in the BM - looking forward to toast in the morning!
Scrambled some rather elderly eggs for lunch
Did a bit in the garden this afternoon
Garden pickings - a lettuce and some runner beans
    Checked banks
Dinner was a steak shared between us with a jacket potato, salad and HM coleslaw. I bought a pack of 2 steaks, but they were each large enough for both of us, so 2 steak dinners for 2 were had from the one pack (we had the other one yesterday). I shall just buy a single steak next time!

Oh @DawnW that really made me laugh - I cooked not 1, not 2 but 3 steaks for my very greedy OH last week and he ate the lot!!! (It was his birthday!)

    Today I have/will:
    • Turn bathroom tap to coldest position
    • Use charity bag as bin liner
    • Drive on eco mode - plus didn't have to drop OH to work which is a bit out of my way
    • Cash in £2 I won on a scratch card (mum bought it for me)
    • Snap receipt
    • Have porridge from communal stash, work milk and microwave
    • Charge phone and battery pack at work
    • Update spreadsheet
    • Finalise home insurance and cancel renewal (£70 more expensive than I can get through one of the compare websites and I can get £30 cashback!)
    • Write meal plan
    • Write shopping list
    • Shop to list
    • Dinner from stores
    • Turn oven off at wall
    • Look at yarn stash to check if I need anything for next project (didn't do yesterday!)
    • Crochet in front of the TV
That's everything I can think of for today.
    Twigs
    Starting again..

We are older @twiggy86 and don't need to eat so much these days. My OH would have eaten both steaks years ago, no trouble :D They were quite big ones though!
    Today I have / will:
    Dog walk done
Washed my hair and left it to dry naturally
Started fridge clear out and shopping list - nothing binned of course, but some pineapple was frozen, and elderly carrots made into spiced roasted carrot soup for lunch (today and tomorrow).
I now have another pile of washing up :#
Ought to do a bit more in the garden
    Need to update my spreadsheet
Dinner will be spaghetti with bacon, tomatoes and camembert. Must pick some parsley to go with that.

@twiggy86   thanks for your tip on turning the bathroom tap to the coldest position. I have done that now, too. Why didn't I think of that before?
Just a dog walk and a few tidying up jobs so far today:
Washed up and cleared sink area
Put loads of clean laundry away and put the washing basket back where it belongs
Found a home for a big bag of empty jars
Put the table mats, napkins, candlesticks etc back on the dining table after OH had to sort out the marks I had made on the wood via an overflowing pot plant saucer :# It looks good again now.
Lunch will be the rest of the roasted carrot soup I made yesterday
Shopping at Li*l this afternoon - not much needed this week
Naan pizzas for dinner will use up some tomato sauce and oddments left in the fridge o:) The idea came from Nigella, and you can put literally anything on them. And kids like to choose their own toppings from what is available I find :)

Is it because mixer taps looks most aesthetically pleasing when they sit in the middle?! I only use the bathroom sink for brushing my teeth and washing my hands - so just need cold water. OH does have a morning wash, hence why I keep having to move it back so that he has to choose to have hot water!
