Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's sunny here, I think a nice day is forecast. You must have been glad to get home Gers, after your stormy journey. We once stayed on Skye for a few days, it rained a lot, and we could see curtains of rain coming at us across the countryside, the way you described, fascinating.TA, hope you are all right.Dp1, it's bad news about your school, sorry to hear it.Izzy, we finally picked some vinyl for the kitchen, on our third visit to the shop - I now keep looking at the kitchen wondering if we've made the right choice. Too late now anyway, it's ordered and paid for.Ruby, hope your Mum is feeling better, and good for you in telling your Sil that your nephew can only stay for short visits with Mum. I hope that Sil takes note and there's no further upset. Not a lot happening today, just the usual jobs. There's washing to do, but it 'll probably dry a bit outside.Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks.11

Back in bed sipping my coffee, the pleasure of my weekends. 😀
Yesterday didn't quite go to plan. I quickly realised that banking would have to wait until Monday as nothing had moved. The decorator came to collect the leftover paint which I didn't want and I did more 'putting back' things. There are five or six paintings I want to hang so will tackle them later. All morning the sky was blue and there was a fierce wind so I decided to risk a washing load. By the time the machine had finished the sky wasn't quite so blue any more but the wind persuaded me to hang it all out on the whirly. Five minutes later a heavy rain shower rinsed my clothes but I ignored it, it didn't last so everything dried fairly quickly.I also made a huge pot of lentil soup so have lunch made for at least four days. The smell was very enticing and made my mouth water. In the evening I settled down to watch SCD.Today I have the joys of the tip - I found another bag of garden waste tucked away at the back of the small barn from when my gardener was last here. The smell of it sent me searching for a dead mouse or bird. When I'm out I'll pick up a bag of bird peanuts and some mealworms.I hope that everyone is doing OK. Happy Sunday to all.8 -
Morning All
It was fairly bright when I got up but it's now raining - that horrible drizzle that gets everything very wet! The bedding is in the WM but may end up on the pulley, the forecast was for a dry, breezy day but it's clearly wrong!
Glad you're getting organised Gers.
Hope your nephew sticks to the arrangement Ruby.
Well done Scarlet, it takes me ages to decide on anything like that.
Sorry to hear about the school dp1, these decisions rarely benefit the folk who use the facilities.
I was going for a dip in the loch this morning but I had my flu jab and covid booster last night so feel a bit rough this morning (and two sore arms). I didn't think it would be a wise decision.
Neighbour came to clear the gutters yesterday afternoon, I had asked the window cleaner to do them about 8 weeks ago but I haven't seen or heard from him so he's now sacked, I'll go back to cleaning the windows myself and save the £10 he charges.
Nothing planned for today apart from slobbing about on the sofa and catching up with some TV.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone the kitchen is now tiled I need to give it a god clean now and downstairs I got all of my jobs out of the way yesterday but never got downstairs finished and I want to give the paintwork outside a good wash and the paving stones outside need a cleaning down from all the dust but that’s the hubby’s job he will have that done quick because the footballs on . It’s chilly but bright here Gers pleased you got home safe scarlet hope your vinyl laying goes better than mine . I am going to make a casserole with some beef I have got for tonight plenty of veg in it and hopefully I will have a good weigh day on Tuesday.thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Hi everyone,
I'm up with Esben who came into our room an hour ago and shouted "wake up" at the top of his lungs. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but his mum and dad didn't get in until nearly 2 and I didn't sleep until they were back. Hopefully I'll get a nap later.
We went down to a new MandS in Stevenage yesterday, we really know how to live. They closed down the one in the town a few years ago and have now put a much bigger one on a trading estate.
We haven't got much planned today, maybe a walk with the pup if it stays dry but that's about it. There's the Manchester derby and the grand prix to watch and then later the Strictly results. Hamza and Helen are my favourites at the moment - I do think the producers gave Tony and Kaye a helping hand with the charleston though, it's such a popular dance and more forgiving on technique.
L and B are taking Esben to the circus, he loves the Greatest Showman film, I just hope he won't be disappointed by the lack of animals, especially elephants.
Have a good day.
It took me an hour to get this finished with the Esben interruptions, so he woke me at 7, not 8.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. We had a glorious sunrise above the moors earlier but the sun seems to have gone back to bed now. Although it is forecast to return later. Yesterday was a strange day, one minute blue sky and sunshine then the next rain coming down like stair rods.
The girls went home at teatime yesterday after nearly eating me out of house and home. I replaced everything on my Tesco order due this afternoon, with my fingers crossed, as it's pot luck these days what will be oos or subbed at the last minute!
Thankfully I am feeling no ill effects from my covid booster yesterday, not even a sore arm. So no excuse for the few jobs earmarked for this morning to be postponed! Then it will be feet up this afternoon reading/catching up on some stuff recorded. I might even watch all last night's Strictly dances again, ff the critique this time.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Take care all xx

Morning all. Dull but dry so far here.
I have one set of bedding in the wash this morning but lots of other bits waiting to be ironed. I also still haven't bought a new kettle so am going to go to Argos later, as they seem to stock the newer version of ours, which should be fine. Whilst I'm out I can pick up some more knitting wool, some broccoli and some milk then that's me done for a few days.
DH has had absolutely no reaction to his Covid and flu jabs, apart from a slightly sore arm. He's still cleaning off 4 horseshoes to make a wine bottle holder for some friends so that will keep him busy for a while.
Have a good Sunday everyone.8 -
Morning everyone
Lovely bright sunshine here and the wind seems to have died down from yesterday.
I went into town and got what I needed and then met DD and little one for lunch - she's very happy to have her mummy back . Then a lovely quiet afternoon reading. I'll go down to mam and dads this morning then I'm going to DDs for tea later.
Izzy - pleased you've got your kitchen sorted
TA - bet you enjoyed having your girls with you
Snoozer - they're so loud early in the morning, aren't they?
Gers - do you have a recipe for lentil soup?
I tend to just chuck everything in and hope for the best
Camelot - enjoy your lazy afternoon
Scarelet - sure you've made the right choice
I have my Covid booster on Tuesday afternoon. Every one I've had so far has made me feel awful for a few days so I'm hoping to be ok after this one
Better get moving. Hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Camelot - I had both jags in the same arm, the 'flu one high up on my shoulder (no side effects) and the covid one about four inches down. That one got very hot, red and sore but only lasted for three or four days. I hope that your discomfort soon eases.Izzy - congrats on the tiling being finished. It's great to look at something new in the kitchen.Scarlet - your choice will be fine once it's laid.TA - enjoy the peace and quiet.Snoozer - what a shame at being woken early, I hope that you manage to have a little nap later. I voted for three dancers yesterday, I don't usually bother so don't know why I took the fancy. There are a couple or three less skilled dancers this year but couldn't understand the judges criteria for points. Anyway, it's just a TV programme. As the forecast is for the rain to stop by 10a.m. I've put a quick wash on, just some odds, sods and towels which only need refreshed. With a fair wind they'll all dry fairly quickly. Apart from that and the tip run I'm going to re-organise my portable hard drives which I use to back-up my laptop. There's too much stuff on as I copy everything across and tend to keep the last 10 copies which is just unnecessary. So, I'm off to put my techie head on and declutter.9

Morning all, the forecast is not too bad, so I have a load in the wm and I'll put it outside to dry shortly.
Yesterday we managed to get Dad's flush sorted and as usual I was the go-fer throughout the job. Oh, I get all the best ones, turn the water off.........turn it back on, pass me another rag etc 😂 Now tomorrow we will go and fit his carpet tiles, shouldn't take long as his bathroom isn't that big, just a bit fiddley.
This morning I shall change the bedding and wash that too, fingers crossed that it stays dry as the weather people don't always have it right. I'll leave the bed unmade for a while to give it an airing, then I'll re-make it. The rest of the day will be mine and I have just opened a new jigsaw, so that'll keep me occupied for a while. Tea today may be a filled jacket potato, but that's not set in stone.
Sending healing vibes to the poorly ones and hugs to all.
Take care and have a good Sunday if you can.
nan xx
