Instagram help please

I've been using Instagram for years with a genuine active account which I started comping with as well about a year ago. I've had no issues until Thursday. I was stopped from commenting (I have since realised it's because I posted an emoji on 2 posts in quick succession as required by the comp) for 48 hours. I've been really careful today since commenting resumed and only done a few comps but I've just been stopped from commenting again :(
I fear my account is flagged now so probably won't be able to comp on there anymore. Anyone else had this happen?

    It is very frustrating.

I used to get regularly banned and could only usually post around 3 comments. But since always posting something different and spreading them out, fingers crossed I haven't had it happen in so long.

So those that say to tag a friend in the comments and you can tag as many you like, but all need new comments. I now sometime tag around 16 and it's absolutely fine. As long as I use a different emoji alongside a tag and maybe don't be so quick. Count to 10 or something between comments.

I understand why they automatically have it set to ban those with lots of comments in quick secession, to try and stop spammers. But they still end up everywhere.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

Thank you for your response. I'll try again once this ban is up and go really slowly. Good to know you are using it fine now though :)

I had an account closed down last year. I'd never had any temporary bans on it at all, had been using it for many years, had it built up nicely, attached to my blog, lots of personal photos. It wasn't a comping account at all. Went to use it one day and got a message saying that I had done something naughty, which I hadn't. Sent in photo I.D and other documentation, which they asked for, but they still closed it. I lost several years of hard work and was totally gutted  :(
I now have a new account, which I haven't attached my blog to, I just use it for comping - I've had no problems at all with it. Instagram moves in mysterious ways.

Instagram started to ban posts on my account after years of using it for competitions and after a short while I was unable to use it altogether. Despite sending in complaints to which there were no replies, the account remained unusable and was deleted this year. Similarly, Facebook has deleted quite a number of my posts to competitions over the past couple of years. I now tend to be very selective with Facebook and Instagram comps and prefer not to use those platforms at all if I can help it. Their algorithms really need to be adjusted to allow a legitimate hobby to proceed in a usable manner and distinguish that use from real spam, while blocking accounts that purport to be other real accounts for phishing purposes. If Facebook does not want posts which require you to tag friends then they should enforce that, not penalise those who respond to that requirement.
