Hi Daniel
I am an i-pod convert - I just love the style and function.
You can only play music set up for an i-pod - i-tunes for the commercial stuff.
However, the free i-tunes software will convert CDs to the correct format.
i-pods are a bit more expensive than some MP3 players (Zen seem to be the most recommended alternative) but I think they are the best."The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him no good."(Samuel Johnson 1709-1784)

Personally I wouldn't touch any that aren't made by Creative. The Zen is my favourite.Winnings

I like the look of the nano but it's so think I'd be scared of breaking it. My OH bought me an MP4 from Maplins for under £25 and it's great!0

sounds like most people prefer zen to i pods here then? i better take a look. thankyou all.:j0

Mine's a Creative Zen - wouldn't swap it for anything! I've had it a couple of years, it's dropped regularly, still works perfectly, except for the teeny crack on the plastic... Doesn't affect the hard drive tho! Can be loaded from any music programme you fancy, in fact, you can just do a file dump from MyDocs if you want to. And the sounds quality is great. They're a bit chunkier than the iPods, but...
