Absolutely correct. Our redemption statement gave the repayment amount for the agreed remortgage completion date then a daily rate of interest so a new redemption value can be calculated if there are any delays.
We completed our remortgage yesterday for a 10yr fixed with Lloyds that was applied for back in May. Absolutely no issues so hopefully that puts some worried minds at rest re. potentially having agreed offers pulled.
HSBC told me that they "posted" a redemption statement to the Lloyds' solicitors last Thursday, when on Thursday they told me that it was not done yet (apparently they update the file with delay). Do you know how long a HSBC redemption statement is valid for? What if in the meantime the fixed rate expires and the variable kicks in? Do they honour the fixed rate for some days or do they report a Daily rate of interest till expiration date and another Daily rate of interest for the period after that date?
today HSBC told me a completely different story. What I was told last week is not correct. They only received a request for a statement this Monday and they will provide it within 6 working days. I replied that I am not stupid and to stop trying to make a fool of me. Solicitors have requested a statement for many weeks but HSBC keeps on finding excuses and reporting false information. I have therefore logged a formal complaint.
I received confirmation on Saturday that my mortgage account is closed - I wonder how long it will take for my payment made on switchover day to be returned.
