Is delivering leaflets a good way to earn a few quid?

There certainly are enough people doing it in my area to make me think it may be a decent way to earn a bit of money when I retire - I am physically fit and there is nothing I like more than walking around at a decent pace. I would only be looking to earn between £75 and £100 a week at the most so has anyone done it and have any advice or opinions?

If you're in a more urban setting, it's a viable way to earn a living for someone who is physically fit - but remember you may be asked to deliver to some areas you might prefer to avoid - you won't normally be given a choice.
Google on 'jobs delivering leaflets' and add your location to find out what's available and what it pays.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -
My lads used to deliver the free papers, often with added leaflets. Haven't seen that paper for yonks, but other smaller magazines are sometimes delivered. It paid best when there were lots of leaflets, but that took time, inserting the leaflets into the papers.
You could also talk to one of those out delivering, ask if they know if more deliverers are needed?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I would advice wearing gloves. Letterboxes often have springs that can snap down on your fingers. I delivered some leaflets for a charity, and the backs of my hands were a wreck afterwards. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

Magazines are easier to deliver than leaflets as they have some weight to them, which will carry them through the letterbox with a bit of a shove. Leaflets require you to push your hands further into the letterbox.

I did this once as a teenager. I remember it being more exhausting than climbing to the top of Cairngorm!
But then this was a long time ago. You'll need a sturdy back.1
