Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, dry and breezy start to the day. Rain forecast off and on.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO pork, LO yorkshires, roast potatoes (use up out of the freezer), veg and gravy. Tonight will be fish.
Work was very steady, just a constant stream of things to be doing/people to deal with/jobs to be done.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Cold this morning but dry. Washing can stay on the pulley and airer today as the forecast is for rain before I get home from work.
Slow drive home from my break yesterday due to an abnormal load on the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow, 40MPH was the fastest we went for 40 miles! I really enjoyed the break away, lots of walking and sitting watching the sea with such big skies.
Back to the grind today, only a few weeks until the next holiday!
Hope everyone's well, take care. XX

Morning folks.Welcome home Camelot, I'm glad that you enjoyed the peace, quiet and beauty of Northumberland.B&G - thanks for the news about the wedding weekend, it all sounds glorious.Nan - welcome back to you too. You've been missed.Yesterday the decorator turned up early, luckily I was ready for him. His mate didn't come, seems he's unreliable so the poor chap is moving the furniture by himself. I left him to it! On the way down I took a load of things to Barnardos and a couple of bags to the tip. Now I'm happily ensconced in my favourite Glasgow hotel.I'd hoped to meet up with my late DM's crossword friend but he hasn't replied to my email so I think that he's not too well as he's usually very prompt. I can manage a wee mooch around some shops even though there's nothing I need or want.Time for a cooked breakfast, I can smell the bacon. Hugs to all and Happy Tuesday too.9

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Against my good intentions I have caved in and put the heating on for an hour just to take the chill off. Another sunny day forecast but to remain a bit nippy.
As expected the vet's bill had crept up a bit last night. Consultation still £51 but the injection had sneaked up to £23. I need to get this cat a job to help pay for her keep!
Not much planned for today but if it warms up a little bit outside there is more cutting back to do. Managed to do a bit yesterday but still more to do. If I do a little each day I might get there before the spring!!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Welcome back NAN. And also CAMELOT. My DS and his DP have booked a long w/e in Northumberland mid October. Anyone know when TAFF is due back, she seems to have been away forever! Take care one and all and be safe xx

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Glad you enjoyed your time away Camelot, and you went to the Alnwick Garden! As you said, not the best time of year, but it still has its beauty. In summer the rose garden is lovely, but even if you go in February the spring bulbs are pushing through.Morpeth is a nice little town as well.Welcome back Nanny, pleased to read you've enjoyed your holiday, but sorry about the problems on the journey home.Good to see that the wedding went well B&G.TA, I hope Sparkle's trip to the vet wasn't too expensive. That recipe you mentioned, the Imam fainted, it's in a couple of my recipe books and I've considered making it, but if the dog wouldn't eat it I won't bother! It gave me a smile anyway.Ruby, I know you're concerned about your Mum - hope the situation doesn't end badly again.I went to a local garden centre yesterday and bought a few winter flowering plants, but didn't see any compost, and all the staff were busy, so I didn't ask, just thought I'd get a bag at Wilko, but they had none. They were busy doing Christmas displays and Hallowe'en displays.I'll go to D*bies or Cl&ys today. I want a couple more plants as well.Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.9

Morning all
Dry and bright here although a lot cooler, I have a wash on the go which can be hung out once its done.
As suspected one of my ladies did not turn up yesterday, I still get paid as she did not give enough notice so I just had the one who does not want to do anything ! We made a cake and some biscuits, and then did some art, I tried to get her out for a walk along the beach but she wouldnt budge, I can see her ending up in a wheelchair in a few years !
Today I have my favourite two clients who are both very active and up for everything and anything ! I am taking them to the Bluebell railway today which is an old steam railway station, we will spend the day there and have lunch in the little cafe and I will drop them off on the way back.
Dinner tonight will be the left over gammon with egg and chips.
Welcome back Nan and Camelot xxx
Have good days all xxx9 -
Thanks all for the warm welcome back. I'm up early (for me) as we're both suffering with aching limbs and stuffy noses. Don't think it's anything untoward, it's just from moving the van stuff about and a change of air. I think we need to live by the sea, the air seems so much fresher! I got all the washing done and most of it dried yesterday, there were still a few things put on the airer overnight though.
Today we want to go back over the van to pick up the seat cushions and carpets as I don't want to leave them over winter in case they get damp. The cover also still needs to be put on as it was too windy yesterday, we might have ended back in Devon had we tried 🤣 At the moment it's damp outside, which was not in the forecast, but the sun is starting to appear, so we'll see if it dries up. Tea tonight will be pork chops and sauté potatoes.
Scarlet thanks for the reminder as I too will need some winter flowering plants now that my potted geraniums have stopped flowering.
TA if Sparkle doesn't pay her way, you'll have to go round with the begging bowl 😂
Camelot glad you had a good break too.
Gers I hope the crossword friend is ok.
Izzy fingers crossed for the weigh in, I'm back on the diet wagon now.
Take care all

Morning all.
It seems to have rained a bit overnight. Last night was decidedly chilly so we put the heating on for a short while but then found it wasn't switching off! The switch on the pump, in the airing cupboard, was stuck. This has happened before but we had someone in to fix it, or so I thought! Luckily DH managed to move the switch manually but we'll keep a close eye on it and see what happens next time.
Gers; I can just picture you in that breakfast room. Such a lovely little hotel. Enjoy the bacon!
Today I'm back doing child care for DGS and the bride and groom have another photo shoot, that was bought for them as a wedding present. If I tell you it involves her horse and getting into the wedding dress again you can imagine what it will be like
After that I have an AGM to go to this evening so I'm putting a pork steak in the slow cooker to eat later on.
Covid booster yesterday lunchtime was fine, although I did feel extremely tired later in the afternoon. DH is having his on Saturday, combined with a flu jab.
Have a super Tuesday everyone.11 -
Morning everyone
Just having a quick catch up. I have little one staying for a few days while her mummy is on holiday with a friend. She's no bother as long as we have no medical emergencies! I'm working at lunch time so we'll be getting the bus down soon. Good to catch up with everyone's news ...hope everyone has a good day today.
TA - I've got my heating coming on for a couple of hours in the mornings now - my excuse is that little one is here. It was only 5 degrees outside when we got up this morning.8 -
Afternoon
Very late today. I know its late due to being after nan (welcome home lovely we missed you)
Had a manic few days it being the last week fingers crossed. Just got back from the house which in theory is my last time. I booked a big estate car to bring the remaining stuff back so her house is now move in ready and my house is full of bags needing emptying. That will have to wait but will need sorting. Mixed feelings but I know its the right decision for mum.
In and almost all the hecticness my computer decided to die. Had to replace it quickly as Im using it all the time at the moment. Not what I needed but all sorted now thanks to the car compensation I got.
Lasagne tonight which usually lasts 2 days. Ill do some garlic bread too and have some nice vino to cheers to mums house.
I have a slight worry with the news saying people were having mortgages withdrawn as my buyer and her buyer both have offers but no point till I know there's a real problem.
Have a good rest of the day all
