i use www.vskips.co.uk. and i have found so much usefull things from kind wonderfull generous people like a juicer and a sewing machine. worth a look.

We have used Freecycle for a while now ... my partner and I have both added and collected a few items without problem.

I do have a nagging concern that when we recieve something we are depriving somebody (or a family) who might need the item more than we ...

some "givers" .. collect the details of possible recipients and then at the close give it to the most needy (in their opinion) which is good, and of course servicable items dont go into a skip which also is clearly not a bad idea.

I havent got the hang of freecycle at all.... I find the yahoo connection annoying and the format clunky, I dont seem to able access the info easily. I have joined https://www.vskips.co.uk, it looks brilliant if more folks pile in. At the moment there are 18000 registered or so but not all seem to be users. Spread across the whole country that probably means you will use more fuel collecting the free item than you save in carbon footprint by recycling.

Any others bigger and better already?
