Quick question about Tesco wine

Options
I ordered a 6-pack of Champagne last Wednesday or Thursday, and it is due to be delivered on the 23rd. They haven't rung or E-Mailed me to say it's out of stock so can I presume they have set it aside and I should receive it with no problems? I'm gonna be gutted if I don't get it as it was for a fantastic price and as we have company coming at Christmas we'll have to buy some elsewhere, probably at a higher price.

I might just do that - thanks :)
  • Crube,
I was due delivery of 6 bottles of Mercier Champagne on the 10th........they rang me on the evening of the 9th to tell me it was out of stock. I think the only thing is to ring them to check!

That kind of thing is what I'm worried about :( As far as I'm concerned, if you place an order for something that is in stock at the time, it should be set aside.

My wife called them. Apparently they only know when your order is in stock when they go to collect it :rotfl:What an absolutely ridiculous way of doing things. Why not when somebody places an order they go to the warehouse, label it with the customers name and everybody is happy. Absolutely ridiculous. Basically it's pot luck whether we will get our champagne

Well it looks as though we're gonna get it :j It's almost 1pm, and we're supposed to be getting it in the next couple of hours. They've took the money, so all is well :)

I do not work for Tesco but I am based in one. I saw a big delivery of champers today. (and btw they have plenty of turkeys)
Same as the turkey fiasco, years ago people ordered turkeys well in advance from local butchers and farms. They now bemoan the death of the small shop. If you definitely want something get it WAY way in advance, OR get it by the old fashioned methods - by hand!
