Natwest Mortgage Removing Hard Search

Hi,

in May, we received our mortgage offer. 6 months offer due to being first time buyers, using help to buy on a new build. The offer expires in November. We are likely to complete in October.

This morning, I have received a notification on ClearScore (credit file) to say that next month, NatWest will remove their hard search. Does anyone know why they would remove this? Is it in line with the offer being about to expire?

Am in a slight panic.

Each lender is different, but it's not uncommon for them to perform a 2nd credit check after 6 months to ensure your finances have not changed. 

They may be removing the 1st check so that it doesn't appear on your 2nd check as a negative when they re-run a credit check? So as you say, in line with the offer expiring so that it doesn't negatively impact any future mortgage application. 

I was declined at AIP with a particular BS, they removed the hard search almost immediately which I found odd. 

If you're unsure, just ring them.

When I applied with NatWest we was hard credit checked on application as you would expect and they must have removed it instantly as it never appeared on mine or my partners reports

@Danieljw90 I’ve just had the same, applied on the 20th September. ClearScore update said that a hard search will be added to the next update. Next update has come and no new hard search from NatWest. 

Has your mortgage gone through okay or should I be worried?
