OK, I'm back.Yesterday started very wet, but turned into a nice day, we'll see what happens today with the weather.Didn't do much yesterday except a bit of shopping, I just stayed in our little town. When I went out I discovered that the Morries supermarket and the shops near it all had their shutters down, they'd had a power cut and weren't opening till 12pm, so I just wenr home. I tend to use Morries mostly because it's the nearest. When I went out again they were open as normal. We had a not very nice meal last night - I was trying a new pasta recipe, but it was dry and unappetising. I'd followed the recipe to the letter as well, but it was not something I'll make again. There were two portions left, but I threw it out - not very O/S I know, and normally not something I would do. The preparation made loads of washing up as well, but it all went in the dw. I made a note in the recipe book not to make it again.Don't know what we're having today, I'll find something. My mother used to make a roast every Sunday, but I don't, only if we fancy one.Black and Gold, I hope the wedding went well.Poppy, nice to hear from you.Hope everyone is all right and has a good Sunday - take care folks.8

Morning all!
Nice chilly morning here. Got 2 chocolate Guinness cakes to finish & deliver this morning before I go to work (part time job at village pub, need the extra money as my NHS pay just covers my monthly bills etc) will need to go to B&M also for packed lunch stuff for mon/tues.
On to my 2nd coffee alreadyhoping it stays dry today & i'll get my washing on the line!
Have a lovely day everybody!9 -
Morning folks, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. What a let down after all that work.Yesterday morning I had my booster / flu jags. It was all very well organised and I only had to sit for five minutes afterwards. I asked the nurse about the weird thing on my BCG scar, she said it was a fungal infection called ringworm. 😱😱 It's been there for wee while and hasn't bothered me. I'm using a cream on it now until I can talk to my GP.On the way home my tyre pressure warning light came on again. It happened on Wednesday so I called into the local garage for air, only one tyre down very slightly. When it happened yesterday I thought I may have a slow puncture so drove up to Oban to the the bigger garage. The young woman checked and found nothing much, she explained that changes in temperature can trigger the very sensitive sensors. Phew!SCD was a marathon, three and a bit hours tested my patience. Mind you, I enjoyed watching it, only a couple of poor dancers who will, I'm sure, improve.Today I will finish off clearing out my bedroom, the other one is mostly done. I'm not going to fret about the things I can't shift, the two decorators will manage. Now I have a bag of stuff for the CS. I'll shower this morning, rather than my preferred evening shower, so that I can use the cubicle for storage. 😀 There's odds and ends to use up from the fridge though I must go out for milk and biscuits to leave behind - painting is thirsty work.Poppy - lovely to see you posting.B&G - I hope that the wedding and festivities went well yesterday and that everything planned for today is just as good.Hugs all around. Happy Sunday to all.11

Morning everyone bright and chilly here this morning we had the log burner lit about 3 yesterday it was lovely and probably the same today I enjoyed strictly but then again I always do not a lot happening today some housework to catch up on I’ve taken a little gammon joint out we will have with new potatoes and salad Scarlet I always made a full Sunday roast until we moved into this house then I said no it took me best part of the day to cook it and 5 minutes to eat it hubby wasn’t very happy but I told him if he wanted the job he was welcome to it I felt as if my day off was taken up with cooking and cleaning saying that we had a chicken dinner last night and it was lovely .B&G hope you have had a lovely wedding weekend and it stayed dry for you all .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Yesterday was lovely and today promises to be the same. A shame its downhill from tomorrow.
SCARLET you have reminded me of a Turkish recipe I tried to copy many years ago. We had enjoyed it quite a few times in Turkey but even the dog wouldn't eat my replica!! It's name translated as "The Priest Fainted" (because it was so outstandingly good!) but he wouldn't have fainted at my effort!
Yesterday ended up a bit of a busy day with one thing and another so I think today may be a day of rest - well it is Sunday! I too enjoyed Strictly last night. It's difficult to predict a winner this time as there are quite a few hopefuls but not so difficult to predict a few early exits.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed up. Take care one and all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -

Thank you all for the welcome back. Another quiet day today but have made a small list so that I feel I have achieved something. Priority is to cut back the geraniums and bring them into the conservatory for the winter. More Lentil soup today and any over will go into the freezer.9

Morning
NRA thanks yes I am having today as a pj and dressing gown day even slept in till 7 a minor miracle for me.
Gers I did SCD last night (only 2 and a bit hours here though I must have missed some) Some great dancers in the mix and then we have the footballer!
Mums buyer started texting about 8 this morning. Is there coat hooks in the hall? Is there a garage key? and more ! Guessing she's having a stress day today.
Made a humongous SC chilli yesterday padded out with all sorts so have lots of portions for the freezer and a portion for later too. Its a good one (hot!) I ate a big bowl last night with SCD and ate quite a bit of coleslaw to cool it down.
Plans today are just couch potato time with some fielding questions no doubt.
Have a good day all10 -
Morning all from a dry but dull Northumberland, such a beautiful coast with wonderful beaches. I've been for a walk along the dunes and the beach this morning and just had my breakfast.
I couldn't connect to the internet here but all of a sudden it works, no phone signal either, perfect for a peaceful time.
Visited Alnwick Castle on my way down in Friday and went to Alnwick gardens yesterday, although most plants are well past their best it was still stunning, managed a tour around the poison garden which was very interesting. That's one thing off my bucket list!
Off to Morpeth today for a look around, I'm thoroughly enjoying pleasing myself and the caravan is the perfect base.
Hope you enjoyed the wedding B&G.
Will catch up when I get home tomorrow so will wish you a peaceful Sunday, hope you're all well. Take care. Xx9 -
Morning everyone
I have my heating on this morning to test it's working ok - one radiator didn't come on at first but seems ok now....little fingers may have been fiddling with it! I'll set it to come on for a couple of hours in the mornings from tomorrow.
Nice quiet day yesterday - started a new book and had a nice chat with eldest DD who was at the airport in Singapore. She's now back in Germany and on the train from Frankfurt to Nuremberg.
Youngest DD is going to Majorca with a friend tomorrow just till Friday - so little one is coming to me for her 'holidays' tonight. Five sleeps which is she very excited about - hopefully no alarms going off in the middle of the night. DD has never left her for so long so I'm expecting lots of last minute instructions today - she brought her clothes and medication up yesterday. I'm sure we'll be fine and she will spend daytime Thursday and Friday with her daddy so I'll get a break.
Well I better get moving - going down to mam and dads this morning - eldest DD says she has sent him a long email.
Hope everyone has a good day today x
Camelot - where in Northumberland are you staying? There's a statue to Emily Wilding Davison in the park at Morpeth if you're interested in suffragettes x9
