Pension emergency tax and in year repayment

I had an issue with my pension provider not submitting a P45 to HMRC or directly to me when I took an UFPLS of my whole pension. I eventually got the pension company to sort their error and made progress with a HMRC agent on a phone call earlier this week. The advisor told me he had “processed “ my request and that a refund would be made. He indicated that I might see the refund on my tax account the same day and be able to claim it online. This hasn’t happened as yet. Does anyone know if a pension flexibility refund of emergency tax can be dealt with online or whether I will receive a cheque in the post. I filled in the correct online form in May and don’t want to keep calling HMRC as it seems to “reset” my application to the back of a work queue.

You've got confused somewhere as pension companies (and employers) stopped sending P45's to HMRC nearly 10 years ago!
Is this refund for tax deducted during the 2022:23 tax year?

Hi, maybe my confusion is down to my lack of understanding of what my pension company explained to me. They said that they had missed a step in the process and not triggered the P45 and that HMRC would be electronically informed that the “ employment” had ceased in the next pay run. When I spoke to HMRC they said they now had the info they were after from the pension provider so I assumed that was the P45 but it is probably just the details from the electronic submission. It was a full withdrawal which took place in May this year I paid 14k emergency tax and given my income this year I am due £7100 back. Thanks0
