118118 Money loans default

I’m not sure this is the right place to post.
118118 applied a default on my loan on 10 Dec 2020, the account was in an agreement (Covid - furlough). A payment was made for November 2020 and then January 2021. So I missed Decembers payment only!
As with most communications with 118118, via email. I can’t remember receiving any potential default notice or missed payment notification. So I missed payment and 9 days to apply a default. Is this normal?

Anything other than full contractual repayment can trigger a default.
Makes no difference what arrangement is in place, however you should have had the opportunity to rectify the situation, by the receipt of a default notice, under sec 87 CCA, therefore you were denied the opportunity to do so.
The non-receipt of a default notice under sec 87 of the act, does not in itself constitute a punishable breach of the regulations, but could form the basis of an official written complaint, should you wish to pursue the matter further.
