When do I give direct debit details ?

Hi, we have gone through a broker and are due to complete Fri 30th Sept.
At what point do I give direct debit details ? Or do the bank send something out after completion ? Worried if this could stop completion going ahead if they don't have these details.
Our broker never asked for any payment details upon application and nothing has been sent to us from the solicitor.
Bank is HSBC if that helps.
Thanks

I dont know with HSBC specifically, but most banks ask for account number and sort code on the application form. So your broker has probably already put them in.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Doesn’t your mortgage offer say something about it?0

I will have to ring the broker Monday to check, I really don't remember giving any bank account information to them at our appointment. That was back in July so it could be me being forgetful.
Can't see anything at all on the mortgage offer about the direct debit.
Spoke to HSBC but because I've gone through a broker they can't tell me anything which is frustrating.0 -

Thank you for this, it's much appreciated.
It's so strange because both me & my husband are positive we never gave this information, however we obviously gave bank statements so could have possibly been taken from those. Definitely never been asked about a preferred payment date.
Will contact the broker Monday!
Thanks again0 -
Sometimes I take them from the statements.
Usually if there is only one bank account or if you can see rent coming out of an account. My mortgage is with someone else but I gave them HSBC and Lloyds bank details as part of my application and although I would have wanted it to come from Lloyds each month they automatically set it up to come out of HSBC (presumably because that is where my income is paid into).
I didn't have a separate form to ask where I wanted it to come from each month.
